Dragon's Eye Telescope
A dragon's eye telescope is a prestigious investiture, indeed. It is more than an exquisite and precise instrument for Observing the Lunar Eclipse. It is a duty, an obligation, and an eternal service. It is a promise to the people of Argentii, to those who were, those who are, and those who shall be. To accept a dragon's eye telescope is to accept the honor and burden of observing, recording, and reporting fully, faithfully, and honestly.
Primarily used for tracking the particulars of the Lunar Eclipse, dragon's eye telescopes are a rare example of magical objects constructed without Technomancy. Instead, they are made exclusively of slow-nurtured Agromancy components, where the base materials themselves -- the gold, silver, glass, and gems -- used in the construction of each unique instrument are imbued with the natural magical energies of Argentii.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Designed especially for viewing the moon and recording its different phases and events, the small, portable design of each is modeled off of the Great Observatorium at the top of Astronomy Tower at Library Inn. Precision artisinal lenses and mirrors ensure a perfect clarity, filtering out light pollution, clarifying atmospheric distortion, and amplifying even the dimmest light to provide a radiently clear image of whatever is being viewed.
Unless, of course, you have not been trained to use it. In which case, looking into it triggers the device's safety funciton and the unauthorized user is subjected to a magnified, intensified, and clarified vision of the sun. This, of course, guarantees blindness in the offender's offending eye, a warning which is written clearly and legibly on the bottom plate of every dragon's eye telescope.
There are fewer than 100 dragon's eye telescopes known to exist on Argentii, and no two are on any same island (except when Daltheeb Moonstrike and the Wolf's Folly happen to be in port).
Michael telescope I love a security measurements say bye to your eyesight you have now seen the ends and outs of the sun
Exactly! If just anyone could use it, it wouldn't be special, now would it? No. No, it would not. And also, it wouldn't do at all to have an entire world populated with quasi-eternal beings. So, again, gotta keep it special, LUL!!
