Common method [Gemcrafting]
A comparatively new technique that took the world by storm. By harnessing the innate magic of elemental crystals, one can imbue items with a wide variety of magical effects.
Traditional Dwarven [Runecarving]
This method is generally regarded as slow and tedious, but favored by most Dwarven arcanasmiths. While it does take a lot longer, the enchanted items can be far more powerful than those made using other methods.
Notably, once set, an enchantment can only be removed by destroying the item. It can however be altered and added to.
Traditional Tribal [Infusing]
One of, if not the most ancient method of enchanting. By using the components of various creatures, the arcanasmith can imbue an item with the creature's inherent or latent abilities. The most potent infusions are achieved by incorporating components into the creation of an item. However, infusions can also be applied afterwards.
This method is still commonly practiced by the nomadic Elf and Orc tribes.
Astral style [Ceremonial Attunement]
By ceremonially aligning items with certain star signs, they can be imbued with a unique type of magic. The enchantments generally aren't very powerful. This method is commonly practiced by Elves.
A slight variant of this technique, commonly practiced by Dragonborn, aligns items to the moons instead.
