Beauty Ideals
To be beautiful in Umbralti terms, one must be the truest they can be to themselves. Beauty is valued on the accentuation of a unique trait (physical or mental), such as pretty eyes or a sharp mind, expressed in an assortment of unique clothing styles. Though most clothing is practical, a variety of beautiful colors is present thanks to the Umbralti tradition of manufacturing spectacular dyes.
Gender Ideals
Largely egalitarian, the Umbralti value the varied contributions of both men and women to the cohesive operation of society. The only limitations in regards to gender are in leadership positions in holy spaces, which may only be occupied by women or non-binary individuals who have devoted themselves to the priesthood.
Non-binary or genderfluid individuals are often trained in professions related to holiness or exaltation of the Goddess of Shadow, as they are seen as the bridge between the mortal realm of gender and the spiritual realm beyond gender.
Relationship Ideals
Relationships both monogamous and polyandrous are common and legally recognized by the Umbralti government. Though egalitarian in most senses of the word in terms of household operation, it is often the primary woman of the relationship who is responsible for keeping everyone in the household in check.
