Humans

"Spreading from their eastern homelands, the humans radiated outwards, exploring the world through long-gone natural bridges and wooden crafts to navigate uncharted waters, claiming lands never before touched by any man."

Civilization and Culture

Average Technological Level

Varies wildly from group to group, as the Vish'coh maintain a relatively low technological level, remaining at the hunter gatherer level. The Pyntoss, on the other hand, posses mechanical wonders powered by steam engines. Anything from Steam trains to Lumber Cutters, the Pyntoss have.

History

Most humans originated from the Eastern lands, spreading outward hundreds of ages ago, eventually reaching Arkros. From here, the two main group of humans developed very differently.   Those humans who inhabited Arkros were unable to expand like their eastern cousins, maintaining a hunter-gatherer lifestyle for the majority of their history. This is attributed to the lack of farm animals such as cows and horses that limited their (practically non-existent) agriculture, as Arkros is absolutely rich in resources. Instead, these humans focused inward, towards spiritual enlightenment.   Humans in the eastern lands, by comparison, raced past one technological marvel to another, experiencing deadly plagues and tumultuous wars. Empires rose and crumbled away to dust, revolutions roiled across their lands and fate claimed their children as they developed and expanded ever further.   Finally, in the 16th Century, the Eastern humans sailed across the globe and found Arkros. They brought disease and death with them, dealing massive blows to the native population. They seized lands for profit, and yet these lands remained relatively unspoiled, even to the present day. This is even stranger considering the industrial powerhouses that Arkros now holds within its borders. This is all due to a massive, unprecedented environmental movement at the time.   Because of this, the natives have been able to (mostly) maintain their ancestral traditions and live within their lands. Different tribes have different levels of hospitality towards the Eastern men, sometimes veering to outright hostility.
