Summary 

The Adakin are a race of near-humankin who live in primarily in the lands of Lavantia, and are an offshoot of humanity. They are the descendants of humans who have cohabited with the Alfar in ancient times, yet the majority of them have rejected the ways of the Alfar in favor of aligning with humanity. Adakin are found throughout much of Lavanita, with their population numbers slightly lower than humans. They possess a potent affinity with the supernatural that matches that of their fellow humans.

Physical characteristics 

Adakin possess the same characteristics of humans with some differences in appearance due to their genetic history. All Adakin have slightly pointed ears, but far less pointed than those of the Alfar. They tend to have more slender builds overall, and have the same human height variety. Adakin also have the same skin tone variations that humans do. They possess eye color variety that includes colors not found in humans.
A unique quirk in all Adakin is that although they possess physical characteristics not found in humans, they seemingly have no main hereditary connection to the Alfar despite their features. It is currently unknown why this is the case, although there have been clues found that point to an event that caused this strange trait.

Relations & allegiances with other species 

The majority of Adakin have outright rejected the Alfar as kinsmen due to their storied history, especially how their forefathers were treated by them. They consider the Alfar to be treated with extreme caution. Because of this, many Adakin make it a point to keep everything related to elves out of their society. Some Adakin have instead chosen to reintegrate the ways of the Alfar into their lives, causing them to be outcasts among their kin.
Adakin generally have overall great relations with humans, treating them as their own kinsmen. Many Adakin have freely interbreed with humans, producing dual offspring. Many Adakin have also taken up the same occupations that humans do, often found in various roles in society.
Many Adakins have also been known to take in those individuals who are of Lerirth origin into their ranks, provided they prove that such individuals are more human-aligned.

Homeland 

The majority of Adakin are found in the nations of Gershon and Astoria, which they have made into their homelands. There are Adakin found in the other nations of Lavantia, although they are in small groups.
