CHAZAR (cha-zar)
Chazar was an ancient fort city that is located in the northeast of the land of Levitia, lying in ruins for over 13 centuries. Resting between two mountains, Chazar was once a powerful fort city that was reowned for its natural defenses & high walls. Chazar as a fort city has a militaristic slant to it due to the presence of mighty warriors of unusual might from both men & women.
Chazar was a Fort City with militaristic defenses such as high walls lined with guard towers located in the north, south, east, and west areas. Four gates are also located in each direction, with each gate being about 100 feet tall. Due to being between two mountains, denizens of Chazar usually only watch the south & north portions of the wall.
The architecture of Chazar is more function over form with homes bearing a simplistic style of construction, yet with fair amounts of decoration & artistic flair to it. Fitting for a Fort City, there are also military barracks & training facilities within for all denizens of Chazar, or Chazarians, to train in martial combat.
The left sections of the city hosted agricultural productions, where essentials such as food & personal care was made. These areas are given extra protection in times of siege to protect it from raiders, hostile nations/tribes, and fearsome beasts.
The Temple Of Chazar was located in the center of the city, which served to house the god of Chazar within. The Chazar would perform daily rites in the temple before conducting daily business, and special rites before going to battle. The design of the temple was similar to all the other buildings, yet given special attention to decorations & flair due to the importance of the temple.
Chazar became famous for the Battle Of Chazar, where the Chazarians were embroiled in a truly fierce battle against the Zemira Tribe. The catalyst for the battle was that the prince of Arlius, a rival fort city, had deceived the leading members of the Zemira Tribe, later raiding their supplies & ravishing the daughter of the High Zemira Chief in the raid.
The Zemira Tribe, being renowned for their unusual might in battle, attacked the fort city in retaliation for the raid. Arlius was utterly destroyed and the royal family there was slain in battle. Chazar was involved due to the Arlians promising them a share of the spoils from raiding the Zemiras, which convinced them to join in the raid against the Zemiras. The Zemiras would discover this shortly after the raid against them, which would prompt to them to go after Chazar.
The Zemira Tribe would attack Chazar after one day’s travel, with the Chazarians eager to face them. The Chazarians believed that the Zemiras were weakened from their previous battle, and would be easier to conquer. However, the Chazarians realized their error when the Zemiras attacked them with no signs of weakeness in them.
The Battle Of Chazar lasted for only one day due to the severe fighting between the Zemiras & Chazarians. Due to both tribes possessing might beyond that of even the mightiest of men, the ground literally shook as men & women from both tribes clashed. The walls of Chazar crumbled from the blows inflicted upon it, and the buildings within offered no safety from the fighting.
The Chazarians began to grab large boulders with their bare hands, and toss them at the Zemiras with superhuman ease. The Zemiras responded by shouting battlecries with supernatural ferocity, causing the ground to fracture beneath their feet. Towards the evening of the battle, the Zemiras managed to destroy the entire wall and invaded the fort city. Despite the best efforts of the Chazarians to push back, the Zemiras gained the upper hand after slaining the best champions Chazar had to offer.
The Zemiras ultimately prevailed over the Chazarians in the battle, slaughtering nearly everyone in the aftermath. Some Chazarians managed to escape the fort city, taking everything they could carry while fleeing the rampaging Zemiras. The Zemiras would collect the spoils of their victory, tear down the Temple of Chazar, refused to take any prisoners, and ultimately set the entire fort city ablaze. These fires would burn for a few weeks nonstop, turning Chazar into a massive firepit whose heat would melt solid stone.
Travelers who witnessed the battle from afar would return to their homelands with both eyewitness & written accounts of the terrible battle that took place there, providing the location of the ruined fort city. From that time onward, the ruins of Chazar would become widely known for the legendary battle that occurred there, and for the tribes involved who still exist to this day.
