SC2023 READING CHALLENGE & FUTURE PLANS

My experience with World Anvil's SummerCamp 2023 event was both a very fun one yet also a constructive critique of my creativity. What I mean by that last one is that over the course of creating content for SummerCamp, I found myself looking into my creative process and finding ways to make my creative flow much more efficient while expanding it by tackling aspects of worldbuilding that I previously didn't delve into it much. It was very slow at first as I was used to being able to just write down ideas very quickly, yet half of these prompts required me to stretch my creativity in ways even I was not expecting.

Yet as I continued developing ideas for the worldbuilding prompts, it became much easier to develop as I soon began coming up with concepts for each prompt. I also noticed how much more expanded my creative process was, and relished in the possibilities that I could come up with. This was a very good experience for me, and I do intend to use this in my future plans. As for my future plans, I don't want to reveal too much of what I have in mind. What I can say is that I'm considering what I can do regarding WorldEmber 2023. And depending on how things go in the following months, I'm intend to upgrade my WA membership from Master to either Grandmaster or Sage. That's as much of my future plans as I'll reveal for the time being. Now, onto the Reading List!

House Of Spies by Wordigirl
"I found the House of Spies to be very interesting as a premise of a very powerful yet independent organization. A powerful international spy ring that answers to no government, just the agenda of the charming yet deviously dangerous business tycoon. The premise left me very curious as to what the overall agenda & hidden world of the House Of Spies is really like."

The Shadowsong Guild by JUDASBRENNAN
"The Shadowsong Guild was very intriguing to me as I liked how they are so secretive yet wield great power within the empire they serve. I especially liked the fact that they are power brokers, acting as a "power behind the throne" type of organization in a certain way."

Vestran Banking House by TARKINLARSON
"A banking guild that not only benefits the community they are based in, but is also an non-corrupt financial institution? That's not something you often see in many fictional worlds, and the premise is quite interesting to me as a whole. I would like to see how the Vestran Banking House is developed more time, and maybe see their further influence in other affairs. Nicely written."

"The title of Grand Duelist is one serious interesting title as the person holding effectively becomes the top military leaders of the Human Empire. The implications of the title are very interesting as I wanted to know more about the person who holds the rank. And how this position would influence the landscape fo the empire, either for good or bad."

"I can literally visualize the entire coast glowing in my mind as I read this article, and the nighttime setting was a great choice. I can manage a character or group simply standing on the beach as the fungi release their glowing spores, making the very waters glow as they stand in awe."

"At first, I was thinking this was about actual flowers somehow traveling the sea to another place given the fantasy setting. As I read on, I saw that the Sea Flowers was the name given to a species of jellyfish-like squid. Other than that, a good article."
