Nearwoods Farmtown

Built in the late second age this is a town of several hundred people located at the south end of the Forest of Beuw there is a single large road leading into the town. This road leads to the fork in the road that will either bring you to Halfbeards Farm or the Town of Beuw. Nearwoods Farm is mostly home to Dwarves and animal folk, although there is a small group of half elves and humans living there as well. The Farm town is lead by a Lord who is assigned by The Beuw Council, Auqin Strongbeard is the current Lord. He is a Blue Dwarf who has been the mayor of Nearwoods Farm for two years. The town is primarily a home to farmers who work on the barley fields, these fields are owned and managed by the Halfbeard family and supply grain for their alcohol production along with selling some grain to independent brewers within Nearwoods Farm and the rest of the Beuw Area. Those who do not work for the farms or Brewers in town are likely to be hunters, the town has over one hundred and they supply the enter Beuw area along with fresh game meats along with Ironecrane. The Forest of Beuw that the town connects to is considered to be much more peaceful then the rest of the Brunedoore Woods, althought it is unknown why. Elk, Deer, Turkey, Boar, Fox, Bear, and large cats are all commonly hunted in the Forest of Beuw. For one week every summer the town is host to a traveling carnival that goes across Ardarock, this carnival is known as the Carnival of Beuw and the traders of the carnival pick up many goods from the hunters and brewers of the town to trade later on. This Carnival starts in The Town of Beuw before moving throughout the small farmtowns then to castle frayn and onto the rest of Ardarock from there.

The Farms of the Town

Most of the farms in the Nearwoods Farmtown are owned by the Halfbeard Hill Dwarf Family, the few that are not owned by the Halfbeards were sold by that dwarf family. The Halfbeards Farms in Nearwoods Farmtown produce primarily barley for ales and spirits, vegetable that are often pickled, while also hosting live stock such as pigs, chickens and cows. The town is home to about five hundred farm workers most of them being either mountain and hill Dwarves or animal. Most of the animal folk work on farms managed by other animal folk, such as Otto von Eiesenfang who is a catfolk that manages one of the farms owned by Orsten Halfbeard. Together Orsten and his brother Ailgrave Halfbeard run all the farms owned by the Halfbeard family that are in Nearwoods Farmtown.
