the Dunerunner's
a collection of nomadic tribal desert dwellers, a people whose languages are nearly as old as the Corintine deserts themselves. They do not tolerate outsiders and are extremely hostile to trespassers. They are a mystery to the people of Corintine, and many believe them to be a myth. As they refuse to trade or cooperate with outsiders, and actively slaughter those that venture into their lands, hardly anything substantial is known of these people. They appear tall and heavily cloaked, all exposed flesh is wrapped in brown cloth bindings. They are known highwaymen and have been amplifying their pressure on trade caravans travelling through the deep desert in search of water.
Escapees have identified the Dunerunners operate as tightly knit clans, whose leadership forms a cabal to unite their people. As each clan has varying cultures and methods of worship, the ancient nomadic tribes have long warred with each other. Only within the last 3 generations, did the heads of each tribe negotiate peace in the efforts to create the cabal that rules over the Dunerunners. Comprised of 6 tribes, named after stellar constellations visible in the night skies over Corintine.
Water is far more valuable to the desert people than any golden trinkets. They keep only what provides sustenance, as keeping slaves alive is an expense they cannot afford. Said to speak with the stars, the Dunerunners have ritualistic practices that enhance their connection with the solar system. They follow the divine path that guides them by starlight through the hellish wastelands of the high desert to hidden oases that sustain the tribes.
