Week 1: Pledge Your Goal

So this is my very first ever WorldEmber... I'm so excited to see what this is!! WorldEmber Prep is also perfect timing since NaNoWriMo is this month, and I'm trying hard to write my book. The very same book the entire world of Armonía is based on. I've never been good at actually doing the competitions. I try my best, but finding time to participate in the competitions is sometimes a struggle. As I seem to lack the time (tech week is 11/8-16, and performances are the weekend of 11/17 and 11/24) and have a questionable sense of perseverance and work ethic at times, I have decided to "simply" have 10,000 words be my starting goal.

1. Choose an area of focus

I want to explore and write more about the species and ethnicities of the four primary elemental Realms of Armonía. It may even be fun to explore Elatha and Xihe as well.
As I have been further developing the world of Armonía, I have fallen down the rabbit hole of the different intelligent species of Armonía. I'm excited to develop further the differences in species and ethnicities of the primary elemental Realms. The four primary Elemental Realms are Anvindr, the people of feather and air, and Morrissey, the people of the islands. Fabron is the people of metal and fire, and Dykuma is the people of glass and sand. I already have basic ideas for what each Realmaic group looks like and a basic understanding of how each species' different ethnicities look. Anvindr will be split into two ethnic groups, the Yoru and the Aethra. Morrissey will also be split into the Nautic and Sereia groups. Fabron is the final group to be split into two ethnic groups, the Islwyn and the Ilanko. Dykuma is split into three different ethnic groups: the born ethnic groups, the Aalekh and the Orinthia, and the welcomed ethnic group, the Syntyche. The Syntyche is an ethnic group you can only be welcomed into, not born.

Week 2: Prepare your area of focus

1. Create a mini-meta

2. Set up a solid category structure

So far, my planets have two categories; the first is a general category titled with the name of the Realm. The second category is specifically for the people and culture of the Realm, and these are titled Sapient Realm Name. 3. Look at other worlds for inspiration

I stumbled upon the world Wow that's a lot of Stars, and I have been using their version of WorldEmber article as a generic template for how to format and write my own. Their world is also just very cool!! So thank you to Rin Garnett for intentionally helping me with my first-ever WorldEmber!

Week 3: Welcome your readers!

1. Review your homepage

I honestly have no idea how to do all of the fantastical and fancy designs for the homepage that some of the worlds have. CSS is not my strong point, but I'm working on it. So far, my homepage has a simple and quick overall summary of the premise of the world, plus a linked article with more information on my world. The homepage also has the Realmaic Codex, Followers, Recent Articles, Timelines, and maps.
I don't have any more ideas for my homepage, so if anyone has any ideas or help, that would be appreciated.

Week 4: last minute prep!

WorldEmber is coming up, and there are just a few little things I need to do to get ready. School is ramping up; semester finals are on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of December. I am starting and finishing assignments early to not only prepare for finals but also to make time to participate in WorldEmber. I also need to gather rough ideas to figure out what I'm writing for WorldEmber. I'm excited for WorldEmber to start and even more excited for the two-week Christmas break after finals.
