The Chronicles of Arora: A Compendium of its Peoples, Places, and Cultures
Preface
It is with great pleasure that I present to you this comprehensive compendium of the fauna, flora, races, religions, organizations, ethnicities, cultures, technologies, and places of Arora. As befits the requirements of a Magistar of The School of Cronography within Carthia's esteemed Royal College of Natural Philosophy, I have spent my life wandering through the lands of this vast and diverse world, seeking out the knowledge and wisdom of its people.
My journey has taken me to the highest peaks of the Kova Mountains, where I have conversed with the wise Rai Paokus. I have also traversed the unforgiving deserts of Safah, where I learned the secrets of survival from the nomadic Kathuri. And I have been honoured to have an audience with the High Almar and the Emperor of Valenfar, where I gained insight into the workings of the great nations of this world.
This book is the culmination of my life's work, a testament to the richness and diversity of the world of Arora. I have spared no effort in collecting and collating the information presented within these pages. However, I must acknowledge that this task was not without its challenges. Obtaining the knowledge contained within these pages required not only persistence and dedication, but also diplomacy, tact, and the occasional bribe.
In my travels, I have encountered many who were reluctant to share their knowledge or who sought to deceive me. Nevertheless, I persevered, driven by my passion for understanding and my belief in the importance of preserving the knowledge of our world for future generations.
I hope that this book will serve as a valuable resource for scholars, travellers, and adventurers alike and that it will inspire others to embark on their own journeys of discovery. The world of Arora is vast and full of wonders, and there is much yet to be uncovered and explored.
