Welcome To Arpina Alpha
There was once a time when the universe was an impossible concept to fathom, a vast intergalactic ocean of the unknown. In the year 7631, the universe has become significantly smaller. Wars waged, empires risen, and what was once a vast unknown has unfurled herself to only the bravest of souls. Those willing to take on the black with courage and the fires of adventure in their hearts. In the ‘verse one can find anything they need, for the right price.
A mysterious captain buys a used ship in the lawless system of Nix, a drastically altered human vessel that, in their opinion, “will do.” They pay to have the vessel transported to a trusted mechanic in the Sepulcher Halo to get her flight ready. They point to a map on a tablet,
“This one.” Says the scientist to their floating companion close by their side as they inspect the small screen displaying a help wanted ad, one for a dark matter engine specialist. With an eager finger they tap the screen to apply.
A chime dings on the handheld pad as an electric voice says “You have applied.” The doctor regards this with partial concern and interest as she swipes her galactic ID to take a public transport to her new destination.
“Sepulcher Maw Four!” The conductor says over the broadcast speaker and the bard stands, ready to jump the gate as he hasn’t paid. He makes it of course, as he spits vicious mockeries at the order officers who are too slow to follow them into the terminal before the doors close.
An electronic advertisement is triggered as it is passed in the terminal and practically yells in a cutesy voice “Watch Pride and Butter on Verse Network tonight at 1800hrs.” The Lakshay native scoffs at it as they walk past looking for the dock number written on a small piece of paper she holds in a scaled blue hand. “Dock 59.” She mumbles to herself.
“DOCKS 50 to 60 are to the right!” A helpful worker shouts over the crowd to a rather unusual Vect who seems to catch the eyes of all who pass by. “Are there any grocery stores near there?” The vect asks, voice box crackling.
“Yes, that way there.” is the reply the human receives to her question if she is in the right area to find the Sylvestris. A human ship she is supposed to be departing on soon. She turns to find a disheveled ship, rusting but clearly operational. With a sigh she exclaims,
“This will do.” Says the youthful girl as she enters the ship for the first time a large beetle and the mysterious captain in tow. “They should be arriving soon.” Her hands gliding over the familiar controls of a ship she hasn’t gotten to fly yet. “This is going to be fun.” She smiles with mischief and adventure in her eyes.
This is the day of beginnings, the start of our adventurers trials, tribulations, battles, victories and comradery.
This is Arpina Alpha, welcome to the ‘verse and enjoy the ride...while you can.
