The Foolishness of Humans Leaves a Scar on the World
A glacial land mass of burning fire and ice just off the coast of Arrhynsia, the Northern Wastes are a short distance from the northern coast of the continent across the
Ur Hilgarria. This land was the location of the Northern Kingdom of the humans from it's settlement in the early days after the First Wave through the
Cataclysm when the continent was abandoned. The cataclysm was an ill fated terraforming spell experiment resultingin an the irreversible inhospitable change of climate that effects the entire landmass.
A small settlement,
Sigurd's Craw, still exists in the Northern Wastes along the southern coast at the closest point of approach to the main continent of Arrhynsia. The
Izotza people who live there are a hardy wiley, independent and self sufficient folk who will sometimes act as guides into the wastelands for adventurers and archaeologists. Notable amongst these is
Hamerber Dreadlok, an irascible old cuss who it is rumored has penetrated into the Wastes as far as the ancient city of Cairne where the
Sunken Reliquary of Cairne is located.
The continent is currently a favorite living region for
silver dragons, and has a unique and deadly community of predators notably the
Izotz-harrak and
Hartz lehoiak.
