A War begin in love, foundered in betrayal, and fueled by unreasoning hate, the Telma War was the bloodiest war in the history of North Arrhynsia and the cause of the Fourth Wave.

A conflict between two warring families, the Telma and the Greenshores, the Telma War started over the assassination of the prince of Telma who was betrothed to the eldest daughter of the Greenshores an arranged political match designed to reduce conflict and bring the two human powers together. The Telma family blamed the assassination on the Greenshores, and declared war on them. The Telma war was one of the bloodiest wars fought between humans as the entire continent eventually became embroiled in the affair. Later investigation indicated that the prince was not actually assassinated by the Greenshores, but by a third family the Olinyas who feared the stregnth of a united Telm/Greenshores kingdom.
