The Capital of Wizardry, Magetown was the birthplace of modern human magic, and effectively improved the lives of all citizens of Arrhynsia.

Magetown started as a small village located at the site where magical leylines reached the world's surface and where human wizards gathered to study. The University of the Arcane was founded here, and eventually became the center of all intellectually serious studies of magic. It also became the center of a huge worldwide trade in magic items as common people now had access to magic to perform routine time consuming chores.   The practice of imbuing physical items with magic spells or wizardry revolutionized life in Arrhynsia, making economies across the world more efficient by enabling and expanding the workforce committed to the genertion of wealth.   Mageville and the University of the Arcane was highly popular and well thought of until the Cataclysm.
