Arcanite (R-kan-ite)

Arcanite is an extremely strong anti-magic material that hinders the use of magic, outright preventing the casting of divination and conjuration spells near it in large quantities and being completely immune to transmutation effects.
Weapons, ammunition, armor, and other equipment fashioned from arcanite take half damage from all sources of damage due to it's intense sturdiness. Due to being an anti-magic material, arcanite is incapable of being enchanted.
Weapons Weapons and ammunition made from arcanite are capable of dispelling magic effects from creatures and objects. If the weapon strikes a creature or object, that creature or object is the subject of a targeted dispelling effect, this functions as per dispel magic's targeted dispel, using the wielder's Base Attack Bonus as the caster level. This is an extraordinary effect.
Armor Armor made from arcanite grants its wearer spell resistance depending on the type of armor, spell resistance 11 if it’s light armor, spell resistance 21 if it’s medium armor, and spell resistance 31 if it’s heavy armor. Arcanite is so difficult to craft with that the DC to create a masterwork piece of arcanite equipment is increased by 20.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Arcanite's most famous property is it's inherent anti-magic abilities, both capable of providing protections against magical effects and possessing capabilities to dispel magic. This is extended to the point that within veins of arcanite, conjurative, traversal or divinatory spells cannot pierce or even function in such mines or caves, resulting in them ending up being amazing hidden bases or bunkers for the extremely paranoid.
Additionally, arcanite is also known to be aggressively near-indestructible, refusing to be destroyed by anything but the mightiest blows, however, this makes it nigh impossible to mine or properly smith with.

Geology & Geography

Found in large amounts rarely in hidden places throughout the world, the difficulty that often comes from both attempting to find or mind arcanite often results in such natural veins being used to provide natural protections as a strategic location rather then as a traded material.

Origin & Source

The origin of this metal is unknown, though it only has been found rarely within malbaar, leading many scholars to believe it is the natural world's response towards the supernatural.

Trade & Market

As the material is not particularly shiny, in demand, easily acquired, or have many functional uses in traded form, arcanite often experiences difficult market flow due to low demand and low supply, but those who often seek it are dedicated anti-mages.
