Lewegisil ('lē-weg-i-sil)
A metallic light and an unnatural crevasse mirrors the unbridled heaving of the draconic and the dreaded.
A reliable presence in the night and evening sky, overpowering most near it, is lewegisil, the smaller of the dual moons. Unshakeable and yet slow as a representation of divinity and dragons, the moon lewegisil is one of the two that circles arsharin throughout the entire year, slowly, and assuredly with even just one cycle of its phases lasting all of it, causing the seasons and acting as a beacon for time and gods.
White, round, and oddly metallic from some viewing angles that only those at the peaks of the world could see from, lewegisil is coated in jagged mountains of odd colouration separate from it's otherwise vast empty surface and completely unnatural formations that signify some greater purpose instead of natural movement of land mass. This, alongside the unnatural density, strength, and otherwise many similarities to ivory that of all material ever recovered from lewegisil, sacrilege or otherwise, bears, makes it the center in many mysteries and unsanctioned research to the nature of the world.
Many believe these odd features might be responsible for it's effects on the yearly weather, and the creation of seasons on arsharin, the bright light it shines during the idaenoathenid seasons is the cause of the heat that bears down, preventing arsharin from cooling down during night, while it's missing presence during theatethenid causes a far greater cooling throughout the day and night. It is believed that this reflected light and heat is what empowers dragons, the sacred energy of the dragon moon being transferred down to draconic creatures.
It is due to these beliefs of the dragon moon's power that makes the entire celestial body sacred, to even attempt to step foot on it in anyway possible is considered sacrilege and desecration of the highest order by the followers of alrond. As such only the archbishop of the dragonfather may give permission to connect the one's feet to lewegisil, something that within recorded history has only been provided once, to an unnamed individual. This event is not so much a recorded event as it is a testimony by the archbishop himself that he has done so once before.
The mysteries of lewegisil will baffle scholars for millennia to come, their attempts at research without touch perceived as folly and their curiousity dangerous, but they shall still forever seek what lies buried beneath it's metallic stone. The presence of lewegisil at the end of it all is still one that has shaped arsharin to be what it is, a varied planet full of cyclic life, should it ever be removed from it's slow orbit, it would simply be disastrous. Though, such a thing would be impossible, even by divine right, wouldn't it?
