Thunderbolt Iron
And I beheld wealth and danger as it fell from heaven, like lightning.
A metal that falls from the sky like a strike of thunder, this is a metal of masters due to it's special properties
Weapons, ammunition, armor, and other equipment made out of thunderbolt iron cause loud thunderous booms. Whenever weapons, ammunition, armor, and other equipment made out of thunderbolt iron falls 10 feet or higher, takes damage, is used to deal damage to a creature or object, or the equipment is broken or destroyed; a wave of thunder is emitted, dealing 1d6 points of sonic damage to all creatures within a 15 foot radius spread around the object. Creatures damaged by this effect are deafened for 1 round unless they succeed at a Fortitude save (DC 15 + the item's caster level).
Weapons Weapons and ammunition made from Thunderbolt Iron create a flash of lightning whenever it strikes a target with a successful critical hit. Weapons and ammunition made from Thunderbolt Iron deal an extra 1d8 points of electricity damage on a successful critical hit in a 5 foot radius burst. If the weapon’s critical multiplier is x3, add an extra 2d8 points of electricity damage instead, and if the multiplier is x4, add an extra 3d8 points of electricity damage. This effect does not harm the wielder.
Armor Armor made from Thunderbolt Iron create a flash of lightning whenever the wearer is struck by a successful critical hit, dealing 1d8 points of electricity damage + 1 point per the item's caster level (maximum +15) to the attacker.
Properties
Material Characteristics
The most iconic characteristic of thunderbolt iron is the loud quaking thunder that occurs every time something hits it. As the material likes to make itself known, it is difficult to forge with, requiring either an incredibly sturdy handler, or a deaf one. The other known characteristic is it's inexplicable purple hue it has that normal iron lacks, often believed to be caused from the light of the sky it originates from.
Origin & Source
Said to fall from an unknown sky, thunderbolt iron is found as meteorites that land in malbaar with quaking thunder and a flash of lightning, making their presence known with ease to those who witness their landing. Such an arrival often leads to the gathering and acquisition of thunderbolt iron to be quite hectic.
Distribution
Trade & Market
Due to the obvious arrival of thunderbolt iron, the acquisition and trade of the material often has sudden jumps in activity whenever new material manifests. This uproar often results in swift usage of the material, or market manipulators to hoard it to control the flow, making later acquisition quite difficult.
Storage
Due to the dangerous nature of thunderbolt iron, the storage of the material often has to be in cushioned containers to prevent storage hall accidents.
