Artemisia
2097 DME
This world is full of magic and dragons, humans and elves, cults and kingdoms, and a rich history of struggle and turmoil. The heart of that history is centered around the Osmain Sea of Artemisia. As the old deities look on, the mortals of the world continue to find their place throughout the vast landscape.
The Continents
This world is named after the main continent, Artemisia
The largest continent is inhabited largely by humans in several kingdoms that have come and gone for thousands of years. This continent is split into two pieces by the Osmian Sea. The south part is what is known as Artemisia to the humans and has a diverse patchwork of climates wrapped around the immense Adarre Mountains and Oravo Desert. This is where human currently have the kingdoms of Ashary and Lastria around the southern shore of the Osmian sea. Over many hundreds of years, other races mixed into this area making it a diverse land with pockets of different ways of live. To the south east, a large population of elves live in the uncharted Koshil Junglelands beyond the reach of the human kingdoms.
The north part of the main continent is Valoa, an ancient expanse of wilderness that gives way to an icy tundra. Here lives the remains of the once powerful human empire, Eberren or Eskya. In the ruins of the cities and in the Valoan primeval forest, the decedents of that empire roam as loosely allied, nomadic tribes.
The second largest continent is Spya also known as Spylheim. This is a rough continent of jagged mountains and a southern tundra that is uninhabited. This is the land of the dwarves whose dislike and distrust of anything in the ocean has led them to be isolated by all except the most patient travelers.
The third largest is primarily an untouched wilderness. There are no established civilization that exist as far as history has ever recorded. Lastian ships traveled by chance across the vast Ines Ocean to it and now have a collection of frontier towns on the warmer southern shore. Among the Lastrian people, the continent is known as Tarragon. The final, and fourth continent is the largest piece in a collection of islands known as Acrary. Very little is known about this land. The islands each have a different unusual inhabitants. Both of these continents are separated from Artemisia by the vast oceans which are dangerous to cross without an advanced ship and a talented crew.
