City-States of Eastar (Ees-Taa-Ree)

Part of the Beveritan League, the Eastari live on the southern shore of the Widowlore sea, on an arid area known as the Lapidibus Agri Desert.

The nation is governed through cantons, centered in farmstead citadels, three in total. Ancyra, in the center and overshadowing and afluent of the River Rijk, is governed by Brennus. Pessinus, on the Widowlore Sea shore, is governed by Liutarus. And Tavium, surrounded by the Bevritia Mountain Range, is governed by Leonnarius.

Living in an arid environment is harsh, there aren't many natural resources in the region. In fact, since establishing in the region, the nation was forced to develop their irrigation system, so their farmlands can prosper. Besides this farmlands, some ore deposits are available.

Thus, most of eastari have diverted to raiding parties, often pillaging their Cretian neighbours in big numbers. Not only that, but the lack of true resources made this tribe worship with zeal Oak, the mother tree.

Their military is mostly built around intimidation and guerrilla tactics, using their expertise of the desert to their advantage.

The Lampa League has made several commercial and military outposts in their region, trading with the Eastari frequently, this has contributed to a good relationship between both.

Has most of the Beveritan states, they have an oral tradition, thus most of the populace is illiterate.

Main Hub

Ancyra

While there isn't a formal capital to the nation, Ancyra is by far the strongest of the three cantons, making it work as a capital for external affairs.   it's a city built next to the river, that helps irrigate the surrounding farmsteads, and it's frequent to see small fishing boats passing by the city.   The cities walls are thick made of dark stone, and tall with several towers and gates making sure that the city is a challenge to any potential invaders.   Inside the city walls, the city turns into a maze of narrow dirt roads and limestone buildings. Occasionally a square is found, but is usually filled with commercial tents and people shouting for better bargains.   In the center of the city, on a hill, is the Ancyran Castle, the seat of power and where Brennus resides.   Just behind the castle, sharing the top of the hill with it, is Oak, a huge oak tree that has survived the desert landscape, magically infused since primordial times to blossom and prosper no matter the weather. Several peregrins come all over Eastari to Ancyra just to visit the gigantic tree and marvel at it's sight.
