Federative States of Mukulu (Moo-qoo-loo)

Living on southernmost area of the human lands, in a place filled with lush jungles and fertile savannahs, the Mukulu have defended the human lands from the natives of the Darar for milennia.   A long time ago, these folk were just small tribes, lacking a national identity, They would defend their land fiercely against neighbours and invaders, and their economy was mostly of subsistence. Then Shaka Mkali emerged.   The first Shaka was one of the first colonists, part of the first humans to set foot on the nowadays human lands. For many years he worked as a councelor to the human kingdoms. Under his wing, the Mukulu tribes started working under a single banner, defending the South from the Darar, proving to be exceptional warriors and eventually this unity became a single nation. Shaka lived for many years, way more than an average human and his essence is now carried on by his sucessors.   The Mukulu is now a kingdom. the Tribes have evolved into fiefdoms that have autonomous rule and answer only to the calls of their kingdom's ruler, proudly known as Shaka. The kingdom is divided into six large demesnes, plots of land once occupied by the major tribes.   The kingdom has stoically defended their borders time and time again. Their warriors are some of the most brutal in melee, wilding exotic weapons unfamiliar in other lands. Their sucessive victories against the hordes of the Darar has given the kingdom the fame of defenders of humanity.   Religion in Mukulu Society is divided into animism and their ruler, who embodies the essence of the first Shaka. This religion and teaching are passed down from generation to generation orally by their shamans. Each tribe focus on one spirit animal that guides them in life. Some of these animists are capable shapeshifters, and the Mukulu use them as part of their heavy infantry.   These folk have survived and endured hell to survive in a place where not just animals want to eat you. Being able to run quickly became a norm with them, and their runners have become known as some of the best in the human lands.   Due to their physical brilliance, they have been the target of slavery through time, especially by cretian society, who see them as perfect fit for gladiatorial matches.   A typical mukulu is tall and well built, wearing loose clothes and few armor due to the heat.

Main Hub

Shan Naki

Located inside the Ingwe reserve, Shan Naki, is not just the main hub for the Ingwe, but also the seat of the Mukulu throne. The city is a beautiful blend of nature and urban, with long wide avenues filled with tall trees and canals of water on each side. The city exudes royalty and many mukulus flock here to try and see the mythical figure of Shaka himself. The city should harbour more than ten thousand inhabitants.   Their architecture is a blend of circular huts, called indlu, and circular buildings made of mudbricks and thatches made from dried grasses and reeds woven to cover the dwellings, creating a dome-shaped structures that look similar to beehives. This is complemented by the animist totem poles that are spread on each reserve, with Shan Naki having beautiful and tall totem poles dedicated to Leopards, the Ingwe spirit animal.   The current Shaka and his family live on top of a men made hill, carved naturally on the earth to make natural stairs, and on top, surrounded by mudbrick walls, a tall mudbrick building, with multiple floors, elevates it from the rest of the city. This mudbrick palace can easily be converted to a castle at times of war.   Being the fiefdom's capital, the city also has a large district dedicated to commerce. Located close to the city walls, wide open squares with tall palm trees harbour hundreds of merchant tents, each square a different bazaar for foreigners and locals to barter and trade.
