Pieni Confederation (Pee-Eh-Nee)

Part of the Beveritan League and living In the northern side of the Island of Name, where most of the land is submerged in deep thick woods, the Pieni are a confederation of small tribes encompassing primarily the cities of Circinn, Fotla and Fortriu.   Each city is ruled by a monarch. A giant of a man, Drest, son of Erp, rules Circinn. the city of Fotla is in charge of Nechtan "The Great" Celcamoth, a surprisingly small, but fierce leader. The city of Fortriu is overseen by Gartnait II, a stocky and fat genius. The three of them together make the Pieni War Council, where Gartnait II is the main ruler with mental acuity to be called supreme leader.   This is a nation where nature preservation is an essential asset, since it's deep woods allow for them to better ambush invaders. Due to this nature preservation, the Pieni lands are seen has an important pilgrimage site for druids from all over the human lands.   The Pieni are the fierce in battle and cunning in the art of subterfuge, working mainly as ambushers in the Beveritan League army. They are experts in studying the area and employing fear tactics to gain the upper hand against their foes.   They charge their enemies with abbadon, running naked from their hideout, their bodies covered in blue and white paint, distracting and catching off balance their enemies with this disturbing visage.   The Pieni are also accomplished bounty hunters. Their knack for studying and acting on instinct makes them valuable bounty hunters not just in the in Beveritan League, but also abroad. With a peculiar skill of being deadly with slashing weapons.   The Pieni, just as their Bertian neighbours, worship mainly druidism, though the beveritan pantheon is also seen frequently in villages and cities.   Since they have an oral education, most of it's citizens are illiterate.

Main Hub

Circinn

The Pieni capital can be found deep in the heart of woodland nation. Being able to arrive there is already a challenge, since it requires to pass through several outposts of Pieni soldiers usually hesitant on showing the way to the city's palisade walls.   Even though most will recognize Gartnait II as the de-facto ruler of the Pieni, their capital is ruled by Drest, son of Erp.   Being the Pieni a warrior society, it's only natural that their best fortress serves has capital, while the foreigners most sought out city, Fortriu, is on the shoreline and serves as the main commercial hub for the nation.   Even though the city is hard to reach, it is an important site for druids, with it's core filled with millenia old trees that druids congregate at and perform cleansing rituals.   The city's streets are made of dirt roads, with houses no more than small huts made of wood and branches. While commercially Fortriu has more to offer, Circinn still manages to have a respectful commercial district, mostly used by Pieni folk.
