Ranger: New World Explorer

Archetype Description

  The New World Explorer is a master of wilderness survival and exploration, venturing into uncharted territories in search of adventure and discovery. They are skilled trackers, capable of navigating dense jungles (or immense deserts) and treacherous terrain with ease.  

Class Features

 

Wilderness Lore (Ex)

  The New World Explorer gains bonuses to Survival checks and knowledge checks related to the natural environment. On non-urban environments, the New World Explorer gets a bonus equal to 1/4 their level (minimum 1). This Feature Replaces Favored Terrain.  

Explorer's Stride (Ex)

  Starting at 2nd level, a New World Explorer may move through any sort of undergrowth (such as natural thorns, briars, overgrown areas, and similar terrain) at her normal speed and without taking damage or suffering any other impairment. Thorns, briars, and overgrown areas that have been magically manipulated to impede motion, however, still affect her.  

Explorer's Arsenal

  At 2nd level, the the New World Explorer gains proficiency with firearms, such as arquebuses and muskets, reflecting their reliance on advanced weaponry during expeditions. The New World Explorer’s expertise manifests in the form of bonus feats at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. He can choose feats from the Firearms combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites.   Firearms Combat Style (Ex)   The New World Explorer can choose from the following list whenever he gains a combat style feat:   Amateur Gunslinger, Deadly Aim, Far Shot, Precise Shot, and Rapid Reload.   At 6th level, he adds Bullseye Shot, Point Blank Master, Improved Precise Shot, and Snap Shot to the list.   At 10th level, he adds Improved Snap Shot and Pinpoint Targeting to the list.   This feature changes the Combat Style feature.
