Republic of Buori (Boo-Oh-Ree)

Part of the Beveritan League, the Buori live on the western side of the mainland, being neighbours of the beveritan Eastari and Avenai, but also of the Kaastian Duchy of Der Fugger.

The cities of Telamon, Placentia and Mutina, and and these cities surroundings make the land of the Buori. A land, even though the Buori can be seen from the outside has savages, they are actually governed through a republic, with the current leader being Bellovesus, a strong and passionate warrior.

This nation is known for it's less noble practices, being recurring raiders, and thus seen badly between other beveritan nations. Indeed, while it's extremely advantegeous to the Buori to be part of the Beveritan League, to the League itself they joined to fulfill a military role, with them filling in as skirmishers and raiders for neighbouring nations outside the League and through it disrupting the neighbours commerce.

The fact that they are known raiders, plundering both nearby and distant realms, and also by the fact they attack in considerable numbers, makes their ill-reputation just. Not only this, but their warrior society praises to fight naked in battle, which intimidates even more their foes.

Nevertheless, the folk of Buor are known as skilled herders, praising above all their aurochs. These animals are quite useful in their society and Buori see them as sacred, even charging to war with them.

Due to their more barbaric ways, the Buori have an oral education system, thus most of it's inhabitants are illiterate.

Main Hub

Telamon

Located at the top of a hill, the city of Telamon serves as the central government for the Republic of Buor. It's a simple (but vast) city, with several layers of wooden palisades and wooden watchtowers to serve as defence against outside forces. The city's innards are made of dirt road streets that zigzag through the cities districts.   Since the Buori are prized herders, most of the people actually work outside of the city walls, on the vast fields that surround city. Besides the Auroch farms that make most of the surroundings, several dairy farms, butcheries and tanneries are spread outside the city walls as well, it's finished goods then supplied to the city for local (or international) trade.   Telamon is where the seat of power is and the main hall where the nobles (and the nation's leader) discuss politics. The main hall is a wide wooden building, beautifully decorated with motifs. It's vicinity is surrounded by wooden pillars that stand against the test of time and weather.
