Temple of Elemental Evil
The Elemental Eye's focus brought its forces to the Tearing Valley. There, each of the elemental cults took over one of the Haunted Keeps for their own needs, re-purposing a long-forgotten Dwarven citadel into their own sanctum and constructing subterranean elemental nodes.
Purpose / Function
It was built as a fortress-city by the Besilmer Dwarfs in response to constant attacks from Trolls and Giants on the surface.
Alterations
After a period of abandonment, an adventuring company fortified the primary entrances to the complex by constructing strongholds on the surface.
Architecture
Primarily Ancient Dwarven in style consisting of mostly worked stone. Scenes of Dwarven life are carved onto the walls of areas used for congregation.
History
Built under the leadership of Torhild Flametongue in 4720 BS. Abandoned soon after death of Flametongue due to Dwarfs fleeing the area. Rediscovered 493 AS by an adventuring company called the Knights of the Silver Horn. Abandoned after a series of wars that saw humans almost driven out the Tearing Valley.
