Morism

Mythology & Lore

Long ago there was no skies no stars and no land, only water existed in Artoria. That was until the giant war which resulted in the giantess Loya getting her heart ripped out of her and thrown into the watery plane. Her heart became the land of Artoria. Loyas lover Morog grieved her passing and vowed to protect the only thing that remained of her. He made the day and night sky to honor her memory.
some time later Morog discovered that creatures had started living on his late lovers heart. At first Morog tried to get rid of the creatures seeing them as pests, however one species left him impressed, human kind. He watched intrigued as their cities were built and fell. However he soon became horrified of the vile atrocities humanity was capable of.
Morog did not want humanities vile atrocities to be committed upon the grave of his lover. So one day he made contact with them in the form of stars and gave the power to read the stars to people he found worthy. Morog wanted to make a deal with the humans that they should follow his advice and he would look after humanity and love them like his own children. Morog gave humanity seven days to decide and on the seventh day humanity stepped forward and accepted Morogs proposal. Morog made the moon and sun as a gift to the humans for following him.

Sects

The religion does have a sect system of sorts called circles.
The outer circle is the most widespread of the religion. They worship the god that lives in the night sky. The stars are one of the ways the god communicates with humans to tell them his knowledge and commandments. These signs in the stars can be told by Astrologers. The Astrologers are also given divine powers through the great one to aid his followers.
The middle circle is more exclusive as it requires the knowledge of Mureduix itself which means some of these people can use magic. But although they know of the ancient god they are mostly worshipping and using the magic for their own profit.
the inner circle consists of people who now about mureduix and is truly devoted to it. most of these people are either astrologers or training to become one. The inner circle knows mureduixs will to an extent and can sometimes communicate with it if they're lucky.
The deepest circle consists of only the cardinals. they know all of Mureduixs plan and is truly devoted to making it come true. The cardinals are the ones who can clearly communicate with Mureduix.
