Ronlor's desert rift

The continent of Ronlor has many wondrous natural locations and is always bustling and buzzing with life. It is a mostly uninhabited continent in the tropical region of Phantoreneige - one that is considered too dangerous for just any adventurer to go to and explore.

There are a few settlements that can be considered safe spots for travelers to stop and rest or be rescued by whenever struck by the wildlife of the continent. The inahbitants of these settlements have also built hideouts in the wild where should anyone accidentally stumble upon them - they can provide temporary safety as well.

One of the major moments in the formation of this barely explored gem happened 34,700 years ago when a giant continuous earthquake split one of its deserts open and unleashed even more hungry and curious creatures from the depths.

Manifestation

In the period of time when this happened there was no disturbances of any kind. The weather was calm, the nature was showing no significant warnings.
First the earth started producing low vibration and a deep almost buzzig sound that made the desert sands move and dance around. In the matter of hours both the vibration and the sound increased and the land began splitting little by little. Like cracks in an egg the little quickly turned into full on ripping of landmass and the immediate emerging of creatures from the revealed caves beneath. The quaking and spreading of the rift continued for days - no one knows exactly how long - and millions of beings that had never seen sunlight before came through.
This event entirely changed the topographic map of the continent or Ronlor splitting the biggest desert almost entirely in two large sections and creating new unique ecosystems within the new formations, some of which naturally turning with time into homes of some of the animal species that came out of these grounds.
