Armor Hit Points

  When a character wears armor, they gain a number of armor hit points equal to the base armor class(no dex bonus) times 2. These armor points are used to negate physical damage; bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage and elemental damage (does not negate radiant, necrotic, or psychic damage).  

Repairing Armor

  When a character takes a Short or Long Rest they can repair their armor. This cost signifies the materials used to patch up the armor. For every 1 gold spent, you can repair 2 armor hit points.
Example: Studded Leather with its base AC of 12 has 24 armor points.
