One fateful day, we stumbled upon a clandestine meeting where Umbra, the leader, discussed the elevation of a close friend. We concealed ourselves in the shadows, witnesses to a sinister ritual that would haunt my nightmares for eternity. The darkness swallowed our courage, and we fled, desperate to forget what we'd seen.
However, our escape led us straight into the clutches of Umbra and his monstrous enforcers. In that dire confrontation, my brother met his tragic end, and I, stabbed through the chest, teetered on the precipice of death.
In the final moments before oblivion claimed me, our lifeless bodies were cast from the cult's tower. Fate, in its capricious cruelty, saw fit to spare my life, but not without consequence. My fall was softened by my brother's body, his sacrifice the only reason I drew another breath. Though my body remained intact, my spirit lay shattered, aching for vengeance.
