K'trp'p (kuh-TUR-puh)

K'trp'p is the title held by leaders of the B'ckth Komodo, originally founded in the year 650 PE, seven years after the population led by Nl’thath Mtl’mn settled the B'ckth Islands. In Komodan language, it literally translates to "Favored" as leadership is based on the character and actions taken to protect and/or further the tribe's survival on the Islands. A K'trp'p simply needs to have had a significant impact upon the survival and protection of the tribe. In the case of the first leader, K'Nl'Tthath, she settled her friends and family who defected from the Mn'tnt tribe onto the Islands and froze the Great Wave that threatened to engulf them. 

There is no official oath to be taken and as of the year of this writing, the B'ckth Islands have had only 2 rulers: Nl'thath and her daughter, M'vxh Mtl'mn. Currently, K'M'vxh survives her mother in leadership and has spearheaded an attempt to grow bigger varietals of tomatulle fruit to keep up with growing tourism demands to try their famous seafood stews and other delicacies, such as Nx'tp't.

Appointment

At the time of writing, the title seems to be inherited in a matriarchal fashion.

Duties

• Protection of the health and interests of the B'ckth citizens

• Oversees trade and hospitality from visitors
• Organizes the Day of Achievements for the youth
• Receives reports from all the surrounding islands' industries
• Makes and executes plans relating to agriculture and trade

Accoutrements & Equipment

A K'trp'p possesses an amulet fashioned from their favorite jewel that has been mined from Hr'thath, fashioned into a "Deep"-style cut, and blessed with protective enchantments by the magically inclined of the tribe. This equipment is not passed on, and is instead used to mark the grave site or memorialization place upon the leader's death.
