Galvyn III
Monarch of the Red Realm (a.k.a. The Sorcerer King)
Galvyn III was Monarch of the Red Realm from 1225 to his death in 1268. Galvyn III's father Galvyn II was the longest-serving monarch in the history of the Red Realm, leaving the younger Galvyn as heir apparent for fifty-nine years. During those fifty-nine years, Galvyn III studied the arcane arts under a variety of skilled tutors, becoming a formidable mage in his own right. He issued the royal charter for the Redacre Academy of Spells, which later became the King's University of Arvor.
Galvyn III's first arcane tutor gifted him a floppy hat, which he favored for the rest of his life, even after assuming the throne.
