Halfling

Most halfling societies are agrarian, found in pastoral lands near rivers and lakes, but they can be found all across Arvor. Halfling societies place great importance on the cultivation of crops and preparation of food and drink. Their celebratory rituals have influenced nearly every festival in Arvor.   Believing that most conflict arises from injustice and imbalance, the halfling towns and villages of old often lacked walls, using the wood to build a bigger table instead. While you will surely find halfling warriors among the armies of Arvor, their societies detest war, and see it as a most regrettable last resort. "If you need an ale call a halfling, but if you need a sword call anyone else," is a common aphorism on the subject.   Most members of the race are called “lightfoot” halflings for their agility, but some halflings are said to be distant relatives of dwarves. These “stout” halflings are hardier and tend to be more serious. Thirsty, too.
