Magewright

Elemental crystals unlocked magic for use in many day-to-day tasks, spawning new careers that span the magical and the mundane. Individuals can undergo specialized programs of study much shorter than a wizard’s to learn a magical trade. These magical tradespeople are known as magewrights and are found in most medium and large settlements. A magewright learns to cast slowly by rote using elemental crystals and may only be able to use a fraction of a spell’s theoretical ability.
Magewrights learn a small number of cantrips or ritual spells to help them in their work. An arcane lamplighter might use continual flame to keep the streets bright, a magewright tailor might use mending to darn socks, and a locksmith may use knock to help those who are locked out.
