Minotaur

Minotaurs come from a chain of islands southwest of Arvor, and are born with traits similar to the native water buffalo. On the islands, water buffalo are considered a symbol of industriousness, determination, and discernment. In the cultures of Minowan, minotaurs are revered as blessed with these traits, and often relied upon as wise navigators of life's wilderness, physical and metaphysical.   Minotaurs do not reproduce. Minotaur children are born from the waters without parents. They emerge from the rivers, ponds, swamps, or paddy fields and deftly and directly navigate the wilderness to the nearest settlement. Their arrival is typically viewed as a blessing, and they are welcomed and cared for by the community as divine .

Lore Differences

Minotaurs in Sylvane share little with the mythical beasts from other mythologies and settings. Rather than the traits of raging bulls, they bear the traits of the industrious and contemplative water buffalo. They have no association with mazes or labyrinths, but are revered as navigators in life's wilds. There is no mechanical difference in the minotaur race, but the explanation and history around their features are different.
