Regent of the Crimson Crown
Since The Concordance, The Red Realm's acting head of state has been the Archduke or Archduchess Regent of the Crimson Crown. The Archduke is elected by the Council of Peers. Since its founding, the council has always elected one of its members to the position, but that is not required by law.
The Archduke rules on behalf of the absent monarch, but is not sovereign. They can be removed by the Council of Peers by 2/3 vote.
