Whispering Woods Wild Magic Zone

After the Cataclysm, the Whispering Woods grew around the ruins of the elven city of Tiernas. The forest was avoided for most of recent history, believed to be haunted. Travelers at nearby Trader's House reoported hearing choruses of harsh whispers at all hours from the forest. Strange things happened on its borders, and it was known to be home to enormous supernatural spiders.
The Whispering Woods burned to the ground in 1500. Historians and arcanists are unsure of the cause, but they believe it was due to a wild magic zone near the center of the forest. The zone became less volatile after the actions of The Unkillable Bastards, but casters in the forest should still take care. In the century since, the forest has regrown nicely, in no small part thanks to the work of rangers, green knights, druids, and Kintla, legendary bard of the forest.

The Whispering Woods are a wild magic zone. In this region, use of magic (especially of the arcane variety) results in highly unpredictable, often dangerous effects.
