Cernos (Sair-nöss)

The Changeling God, Shapeshifter, Hundred-Faced One. These are all names attributed to the being known as Cernos. In the current era, there are myths referring to them as "The Chained God", for they say that change is halted in this time of peace.

Duplicitous Personality

Cernos, in his nature, is ever-changing. It's will and whim cannot be verified. Those who believe they have communicated with the trickster god all have differing accounts as to her personage.

That said, there are consistencies to their works. Cernos does not work to spread its curse, he merely shepherds those who endure it. Changelings, lycans, any who lie with their face, fall into Cernos's rhythm. Some are bound to the phase of the moon, others to time, others to nothing. But they are all bound to Cernos.

Divine Domains

Cernos is a patron of disguise and shapeshifters. Sometimes attributed to deception and described as an evil deity, though his followers attest he is but a patron of that which already exists, and bears no malevolence.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Cernos is most commonly represented by twin faces, turned towards each other. Other symbols of Cernos include snakes, foxes, and an upturned crescent moon.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of Cernos are encouraged to embrace the chaos of their gift, and allow it to work in its natural way.

Man in the Moon

Myths and rumors describe a being that exists in the moon, who appears to those who wish to hide. Followers of Viva Mori believe this to be Cernos' avatar, however descriptions of those who claim to have seen the "Moon Man" don't match up with ancient descriptions of the Changeling God. Theologists have postulated that this being could be an agent or descendant of Cernos, but none have succeeded in communing with him
