Storm's Run

Located on the top the Howling Archs to the south-west, Storm's Run is a harsh yet extensive town that thrives off the export of its renowned brandy, aswell as the treasures and riches found within the dangerous waters around the base of the bluffs from ships crashing against the jagged rocks. It is currently affiliated with the Lorian empire.

Districts

 

Wyrm's Crossing: Gate District

  Situated on the large bridge of the same name that stretches over the blackmaw swamp below, it is the first quadrant of the city that terrestrial travellers encounter upon visiting Storm's Run. A myriad of different buildings were constructed on top of the crossing: from elaborate, several-story mercantile shops to small vendor stalls and even precariously-built businesses that hung off the side of the stone bridge, overlooking the ominous bog below. All these crampted into the finite space - making vision of the swamp below nigh impossible from the narrowed roadway - albiet the smell has no such restriction.

Bridgeside: Farm district

This is the district that new comers first visit, situated immediately after crossing the bridge. It bares semblance more of a shantytown connected to the city rather than a district of it - but nevertheless is a prominent part of the city. The vineyards of hops and juniper berries littering the area tell of a great focus on agriculture here. Muddy streets and crude lean-to's show the demographic here.

  • Forest - Eriana's Grove: A small wood set on the edge of the cliff, an official sanctuary park in honour of Eriana.
  • Brothel (shanty) - The Red Lantern: poor brothel lead by magician.
  • Farmer's Market: mundane and fresh goods.
   

Thunder's Vale: Central District

  The central ward of Storm's Run, it sits betwixt the largest of the seabluffs, with much of the city looking down on it from above. The main road of this district is filled with a myriad of taverns, inns, and shopfronts. thoroughfares wind to either side, beneath the concave sides of the bluffs, lifts grant passage to the upper areas of the city as well as the docks beneath.

Merchant's Way: Trade District

atop a middling bluff is the quadrant of commerce, with a myriad of shopfronts and businesses pervading throughout. Whilst housing the ordinary services, it has a strong catering towards Lorian's, Seafarer's, Collector's and Arcanist's.

Stormport: Harbour District

The Port of storms run, and the district attached, are located in a sandy bay sheltered by the giant arches around it. Lifts and cranes move people and cargo up and down, while the cacophany of creaking ships, dinging bells, shouting voices and lapping waves fill the area. the aroma of fish, seaweed and salt permeates the air. The shanty yet robust buildings along the port pale in comparison to the opulent establishment of The Lorian Trading Company, looming over the entire port.  
NOTABLE LOCATIONS:
 
  • Inn - Blushing Mermaid: a tavern, inn, and festhall in the port area of Storm's Run. It was well-known for its luxurious atmosphere, privacy, and unique dining with merfolk servers in warm spa waters.
  • Brothel - The Shrieking Clam: An opulent and exclusive inn, festhall, and brothel frequented by sailors and other seafarers.
  • Seafood Markets: where the days catch is sold
  • washup treasure shop - Washed up Wonders: sells treasures washed up on the shore - some magical, some not, all rather extraordinary. Run By an old Half-Orc woman named Beverly Crewe
  • Lorian Trading Company Outpost: Large Outpost for the LTC and their arynian workings. 
  • Shrine to the Bitchqueen: a place where one would pay tribute in appeasment of umberlee, in hopes she would not doom them upon the seas.
  • Temple to Valkur: place of worship to the Mighty Captain.
 

Galetop District: Upper District

Atop one of the largest bluffs, Galetop houses the upper class of the city, along with the Ruling palace - The Storm Palace, or Castle Starvel - resting at its peak. Sumptuous buildings and opulent streets speak to the class of its most prominent inhabitants. aristocratic archecture strongly resembling lorian design, with lorian tropical plants livening up the area exude extravagancy.

  • Tavern - The Drunken Drowner: A charming and exquisite inn that resides on and within a seabluff precipice, with the main room being situated in an elevated cavern within the bluff that overlooks the turbulent shores below, most often with the presence of drowners, who - for whatever reason - frequent this area below the Inn where old alcohol is regularly poured out, causing the famed sighting of “drunk drowners”. run by Grin Stoneboot - A stout dwarf, with fiery red hair and no beard.
  • Gambling/Inn - The High Flagon: A gambling hall and inn with a crude luxury to it, aiming for semblance of opulence but it was more of a Debauched hall of festivites and gambling that also acted as an Inn for the same ilk.

  • Ashen League Outpost - The Crowning Storm Theatre: This grand theatre hosts many a performance. The inner walls of the Crown were plush and draped in red velvet. Jutting out from its reaches were a series of inward-facing, rounded balconies. The seats were steeply arranged around a grand, ovular stage that was fantastic for carrying the voices of performers, especially while singing. It also secrectly worked as a front and cover for the Ashen League, who established their true lair beneath it, whilst also using the establishment itself as its headquarters and a place of work - spying on those that would talk in the cover of their shows.
     

Temple Ward: Religious district

Atop one of the largest bluffs, this quadrant is dedicated to worship of Selune, Larthander, and Tymora. It does have much area dedicated to housing upper-class citizens, Along with a

Underbluff: Industry district

nested beneath the arching bluffs is the industrial area of Storm's Run. Filled with warehouses, workshops, factories and of breweries, it also houses the lower socio-economic class of the city.

Shaleton: Slum District

This secluded quadrant lays within a wide chasm of a sundered Bluff. It serves as housing district for the poor and lower-class, cramping the shanty buildings together and atop one another, lining the walls of this chasm.

  • Night Mask Lair - The Old Granite Quarry:  that have been exhausted and decommissioned beneath the Temple Ward Bluff

North-Ishtar: Military District

Situated near Bridgeside and at the northern base of the Seabone Cliffsis the newest district of Storm's Run. It has been established by and for the Lorian empire, more specifically its mitilary. Acting as headquarters for their position in Aryndel, It houses numerous barracks, training grounds, garrisons and other services catered to the military.  
NOTABLE LOCATIONS:
  • City Barracks: Captain Tulvir Olwreth (Old silver Dragonborn - chivalrous and austere but with a revelrous heart - captain since the war started)
  • Army headquarters - Lorian Embassy:
A pronounced and prominent establishment - a citadel fortress  with smaller buildings and camps sprawled around it. Segragate this area off from the rest of the city save for a large guarded porticullis. Legate Romulus is the ruling face of this establishment, but spends most of  his time deligated to the political side of things, and so charges his second in command - Dominus Alexandrus (dogmatic follower of tiberius and has sociopathic proclivity for war.)

1 An adoring fan is excatic after witinessing you in the flesh and has boundless questions
2 A Night Mask Pickpocket tries his luck at pickpocketing a member of the group - with the other attempting to divert their attention long enough.
3 An drunken sailor attempts to prove his worth and restore his self-esteem by facing off against a member of the party 1 v 1 fisticuffs
4 An explosion goes off at the end of an alley, starting a fire in a near house. The explosion was provoked by Elvir Softbreeze, an elven woman who incorrectly mixed ingredients in her shanty alchemists lab. Elvir lays unconscious on the ground. Inside the house a child screams come out from a window. A wardrobe fell on top of a woman by the name of Marie Bluesail from the explosion. Marie is incapable of getting out by herself. A DC15 Strength (Athletics) check is needed in order to help her get out by pulling the wardrobe up. By the moment the players arrive, a 5-year-old girl by the name of Olive is trying to help her out without any progress. WATER MAKES WORSE
5 A fledging bard flocks towards the party and asks about their recent endevours, and what they are planning at the moment and such (is actually ashen spy)
6 A stray dog with recent scars follows a party member, looking sad (the ship it was on left it at storm's run and it has been trying to get by ever since, it has been hurt by guardsmen who harrassed it away from the backalley of the butcher in thunder's Vale
7 A Beggar on the street ashs the party to spare a coin, the figure is a 1D4: 1-ex noble 2-veteran soldier 3- ex mercenary 4- ex priest
8 You hear, over the rabble of the city, a comotion begining to form - an older Woman has turned off the mainroad hurridly as 3 cowled figures delinquently follow - They are night masks are ruthlessly robbing this woman at knife point.
9 You see the city guards raid a storefront. Guards preventing people from coming close say that it’s a front for illegal activities. Really the owners ticked off the wrong person, forgot to pay protection money, and the guards are corrupt doing their bidding.
10 A Tiefling merchant selling potions and beautiful comsetic wares out of a travelling wagon. When asked about the origin of the potions, only vague answers are given. Rouges with ties to the local Thieves Guild might know them.
11 You hear the sound of an enraged shopkeeper, as you look in the direction they are yelling at, all you see is a small figure zip down an alley opposite the shopfront on the other side of the road (small child getting food to eat for younger brother and her).
12 The beasts of burden (Ox) pulling a carriage have gotten spooked or agitated by nothing in particular, and the driver can't get them back under control.
