A plague sweeps Divinice

With increased ties to the eastern continents came increased mobility of people, larger towns, and worse hygiene in many places. So when a ship of sailors arrived unwell and dying in the northern ports, their disease - brought from the east - swept quickly throughout Divinice. The royal family did not escape unscathed, with both Crown Prince Samson and Prince Consort Sorin succumbing to the disease. Queen Eloise II and Princess Twila managed to survive their encounters, though Eloise was frail thereafter. Through a series of quarantines and vast advances in medicine with the aid of Maidens and their magic, the Plague was eventually driven back from Divinitian shores, and would eventually subside in the east with Divinice's aid. Twila, who at the time she caught the plague was barely 3 years old, had much of her childhood defined by her miraculous survival where her older and healthier brother had fallen. It put a significant damper on her coronation in 966.
