Sol System

Located in the Orion-Cygnus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, much has changed in the 400 years since the rise of the Terran Ascendency. Terraforming and colonization activities have been completed on the Moon, Mars, and Europa, while terraforming is still progressing on Venus, Io, Ganymede, Callisto, and Calypso. Humanity has rebuilt in those years, but is still a small percentage of its original population, coming in at 2 billion (not counting the members of Project Vanguard) among all it's colonies. Despite this, much of the solar system has been mined of resources. At the completion of mining operations of the asteroid belt, Project Vanguard had begun as there were fewer bodies left in the solar system that contained the valuable Higginson-Meiers elements.
