Argian

These hulking beasts of humans inhabit the frigid Northern continent of Argia. They are tribal and fiercer than any terror of the icy wastes. Despite their territorial, war-like natures, they will always defer to the Wolfmother in Wulfskathi, the matriarch of all clans. There has been some resistance with the younger generation of Argians, thinking that the "old ways" were no longer efficient, but until they are old enough to challenge the Wolfmother or even their elders, they are unlikely to gain any headway in the hierarchy of Argia. Along with a strong sense of tradition, the Argians tend to give thanks and worship to Ulf & Ylva, the closest thing they have to a deity.

Naming Traditions

Family names

Unlike many other cultures on Ashaia, the Argians venerate mothers above all and hold no traditional surnames, instead adopting their mother's first name as a type of surname. For example, the son and daughter of Hyldr would adopt the "surnames" Hyldrson and Hyldrdottir, respectively. They are also likely to keep the moniker of their tribe as well, so Torin, son of Hyldr, of the Stormtalon tribe would likely be known as Torin Hyldrson of the Stormtalon tribe or rarely Stormtalon Torin Hyldrson depending on the tribe he came from.
