Ivae Peral
Ivae Peral (a.k.a. Sable)
A former student at the Opal Academy of Konaïs, the same city where he was born. Ivae is the son of Vamir Peral and Yarah Bilduhr, two members of the the Opulan Council. He spent most of his life in the Konesian Highreach district but started to live on the academy grounds when he began his studies at the Opal Academy as a spellsword.
Ivae spent most of his time in the Academy alone, studying all the different kinds of magic available to him. His interests were varied but of all the different schools of magic, necromancy caught his eye the most. He began to experiment within his dorm, attempting to craft spells of his own.
During the second year of his arcane education, Ivae met his soon-to-be best friend, a drow sorcerer named Phoenix DeTrafford-Brandwreath. Together they were assigned the task of retrieving a magical artifact for the school. This artifact, once discovered, piqued Ivae's interest, as it was a book of great necrotic power. When they returned to school, however, the artifact was confiscated by Merlonn Grimm, who used it to begin plotting the summoning of The Risen.
Within the Academy, Ivae began growing a closer bond with the Opal Dragon, the school's treasurer of sorts and later revealed to be a weakened physical form of Tiamat, The Chromatic Dragon. Ivae would later step into the Dragon's service as one of their five warlocks. The following year, the duo of Ivae and Phoenix were given another school assignment, this time they were to head to the south, to the town of Biggetyburg to investigate a strange infection that had taken place there. Once they reached the town, however, they found out that this "infection" was much more severe than it was first assumed. The entire town was ravaged by an undead plague and, whilst trying to fight off the hordes of undead, Peral was killed. Luckily, Phoenix was able to store the body of Ivae in his Bag of Hoarding and was able to escape the town without much trouble.
Attempting to resurrect Ivae, Phoenix and the Opal Dragon soon found that his soul was trapped somewhere, later discovered to be the Shadowfell. It took two months for the Dragon to figure out a way to reach that plane, and together with another friend made at the Academy, a boy named Mikey Wazowskey, they rescued Ivae's soul and were able to resurrect him. After a few weeks of readjusting to being alive, Ivae and Phoenix were assigned to take part in the city's charity effort, which unbeknownst to them would lead to the slums being infected with the same virus that infected Biggetyburg. The two once again got caught up in a battle together with Mikey and another student from the Academy. Battling a monstrous undead, Phoenix would be the one to lose their life this time, only to be resurrected again the very same night once the battle had ended. Whilst the infection in Biggetyburg kept raging on, the one in Konaïs itself ended almost as soon as it started, though the city was about to experience something much worse.
The day now known as the Day of Scales and Shaow occurred only a month after the death and resurrection of Phoenix. The two friends would, prior to the major events of that day, break into the office of Merlonn Grimm only to discover he had locked away the wizard known as Mordenkainen within a secret magical manor attached to his school office. Mordenkainen explained to the two what the wizard was planning, and the two headed out to stop him. Together with the four other Opal Warlocks, the Opal Dragon himself and Mikey Wazowskey, they took on Merlonn Grimm and Amelia Vayne who were in the middle of summoning the God of Undeath. During all this, the city was in chaos, the Academy and the Adamant Archive being torn from their foundations and risen up into the air by some powerful magic of Merlonn's, he revealed his plan to be the eternal preservation of all knowledge through replacing Vecna and becoming an immortal himself.
This plan was thwarted in the end, when an undead summoned by Ivae killed the mad wizard and together with his friends, he was able to kill the partially-formed God before it could cause any more destruction. During this battle, Peral was the one who planted the bean that would end up creating the massive beanstalk that now pierces the Cathedralis Supra. After the death of Merlonn, the Opal Dragon turned back to their original form, that of Tiamat. The other four warlocks immediately accepted their proposal to come with them but Ivae, having more to lose, took a bit longer to decide. He would not join them just yet, first taking the time to say goodbye to his family and friends, only to disappear into the mountains later, where he presumably found Tiamat again.
