Kah'bowl

I am the youngest heir of a prominent ruler. What do I do for entertainment?
You watch this sport!   Kah'bowl is a game played by two opposing teams of 5 players where a 22cm diameter ball, typically made from an animal's stomach, is traditionally manipulated by hand and passed between players with the goal of achieving points by making a touchdown in the enemy's team zone.
Fields can vary in size, but are always square, typically with a 5 by 3 ratio. Each game plays over four quarters of 15 minutes, and separated by 2 minutes of downtime. Teams consist of sprinters, blockers and bruisers. Each member is given a piece of enchanted equipment based on their position in the team: bruisers are given gloves that enhance their strength, blockers are given a shield that has a repulsive charge, and sprinters have boots that enhance their speed and jumping height. Each piece of equipment has only one charge and are recharged before each. The potency of each piece of equipment is so great that timing their use is important to a team's strategy.
There are few other rules to this game, as violent actions are common and cheating is hardly stopped in many official games (especially in the Bloodstone Colosseum). Special elements can be introduced to spice up the game, such as difficult terrain, obstacles and various constraints. A fan favorite of those who frequent the Bloodstone Colosseum is releasing a small group of lions on the players (rarely in the middle of a quarter, but it is known to happen).

History

The sport was first developed for children in Kall'nokt Shal'kree's territory by peasants who have been to the Bloodstone Colosseum but were unable to visit frequently. The popularity of the sport picked up and spread quickly. It became the national sport of Kall'nokt Shal'kree (second only to the gladiators) and unofficial arenas appeared all across the world and in all territories. No matter where you're from, you will likely find a sizable group of people passionate about the sport, even in the territories with gods of more docile dogmas.
