Ashes and Embers

For years The Scholars of the Ashen Tyrant were seen as mostly harmless - a group that venerated the long-dead Father of the Gods, the Ashen Tyrant. They stuck to their dark town on the mountainside and were quiet. One rarely saw them, even when the rest of the gods began to fall silent. The Scholars stayed on their mountain. As the world panicked and scrambled to adapt, they were silent observers.   At least that was what you always thought....
