Incanting

Incanting is a magical discipline that involves the use of spoken spells and incantations to produce magic. These spells and incantations can include words of power, true names, and other magical phrases that hold a special significance or power.

Unlike the art of Ceremony, which typically requires preparation and the use of specific materials and rituals, incanting is a much more spontaneous and immediate form of magic. The effects of incanting are typically instantaneous, occurring as soon as the incantation is spoken.

However, incanting is not a discipline that can be easily mastered. It requires a great deal of training and practice to correctly perform an incantation, and even those who are capable of incanting may not fully understand the words of an incantation they do not know, replacing the true words with ones they do understand. The minds of those who are not incanters are typically incapable of hearing the incantation at all.

Learning incanting is often compared to learning music, as it requires a certain level of skill and proficiency to correctly perform the spells and incantations. However, the stakes of incanting are much higher, as the consequences of failure can be severe.
