Stardust
Before the time of humans or any civilized life 75% of the stars in the night sky exploded and many years later Stardust rained from the skies for a consecutive 30 years. Stardust found its way into the deep dark caverns where it felt most comfortable but some clumped together to form an ore like material and settled at mountain tops burrowed into the sides.
Stardust was first harvested by human alchemists searching for ingredients and found that Stardust enhanced the magical properties of potions making effects last months at a time. A few years after the alchemist's discoveries, blacksmiths were searching for more iron, bronze and tin in the mountain ranges and found a purple-white ore it was enough out of the ground that they could carry it out of the ground and in their wagon. The smiths returned and after a long heating and cooling process made the first Pure Stardust Sword Carmilla's Blue and held it high. The sword was the first enchanted sword with the power of entanglement wrapping its foes in a thick vine rendering them immobile. The smiths who made Carmilla's Blue made an organization called Stardust of Carmilla and trained Stardust Smiths for years before the outlaw of Stardust Smiths and Pure Stardust products.
After the disbandment of the Stardust Smiths many cooks caught on to the sweet smell and taste of Stardust and used is as a very minor ingredient in many desserts like Night Sky Romance which is a cake with a pinch more than usual Stardust in it to give is an addicting sweetness, often consumed on struggling dates.
