Dwarf

The Dwarven race has undergone its share of trials throughout Askara's history. Unlike the fluidity of some other races, all Dwarves' origins can be traced back to one of two domains:

• The Hyfane Dominion: Dwarves of Hyfane (Hill and Mountain) are proud of their lineage and are generally honorable people, sometimes to an excessive extent. Hyfane Dwarves are easy to identify, because usually they'll be eager to tell you all about the wonderous cities of their great nation.
• The Mror Lands: Dwarves of the Mror Lands do not share the same decorated history and traditions of their Hyfane counterparts. For centuries, the Mror Lands were under the control of the Kingdom of Cyre, and the dwarven people were treated as second-class citizens. That changed with the Spellplague and the onslaught of Valenar. The Spellplague significantly weakened the Kingdom of Cyre, which the martial Houses of Valenar seized as the perfect opportunity to strike. In turn, the Mror Dwarfs used this as a chance to annex themselves from Cyren rule. The fall of Cyre further solidified Mror's independence, and the nation and its people have enjoyed their relatively newfound freedom since then.
