Minotaur

Overview

Minotaurs combine a burning fury in battle with keen tactics that make them excellent commanders as well as valuable shock troops. The largest collection of minotaurs can be found amongst the orcs of Rorzok, where strength and battle are valued above all. Since minotaurs are raised in small packs, the tribal culture is what is most familiar to them. However, not all are bound by the desire for battle. Though many people would consider minotaurs monstrous for their inherent traits, there are those that manage to integrate themselves into normal society. These minotaurs are valued for their exceptional work ethic and extraordinary strength, and often become invaluable haulers, loggers, and stonemasons to the regions they reside in.

Reliable Allies

Minotaurs tend to vent their outrage through violence, but they aren’t generally quick to anger. They are passionate, loving their friends and partners fiercely, and they laugh loud and long at good jokes. This quality makes minotaurs excellent adventurers, while their pack upbringing makes them feel right at home amongst a party of companions. Minotaurs typically do not value physical wealth like other races and instead seek to be remembered for their great deeds. Every minotaur wants to leave behind a legacy of greatness.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Minotaur have large horns on their heads which can be used as natural weapons in battle. Their horns range in size from about 1 foot long to great, curling weapons easily three times that length. They often ornament their horns with metal rings or sheathe them in metal to protect them from damage.   Manes of shaggy fur extend down minotaurs’ necks and powerful backs, and males have long tufts of hair on their chins and cheeks. Their legs end in heavy, cloven hooves. Minotaurs are born with long, tufted tails, but they have limited control and lack sensory in them. As a result, many minotaurs choose to "dock" their tails as a safety measure. No one wants to trip over their own tail in the heat of battle, after all.
