The Empires' Oracle

The Empires' Oracle was the name given to the second to last generalist prophecy the soothsayer Jenevae Presvyre released into the world. As she was cloistered into the Jadeleaf Coven already by that time, her words were recorded and later released to the world.

Wording of the Prophecy

The end of an age comes   When dragon and griffin settle side by side   And silent go the war drums     The heavens moan and shake   Their lust for power yet unsatisfied   But nothing the shields break     And as night turns to day   All watch god swallows some pride   As a child leads the way

Interpretation

It should be noted that Jenevae Presvyre was never trained in the arts of soothsaying. She always prefaced any sharing of her visions with that fact. The oracle was made common knowledge in 4553, after the death of Jenevae two years prior. As Jenevae was semi-respected in academic and esoteric circles, this prediction - like most of her others - was studied as a possibility.   Most scholars tend to agree that the Dragon and the Griffin of the vision represent Asashun and Ankara. The vision was received as an omen of peace between the two great empires that had long fought over their share of Aralun.   As part of Aralun is quite susceptible to earthquake, the second verse has been taken literally by most students and warn that a peace treaty signed between the empires could herald the beginning of a prolonged period of seismic tremors.   The last verse, where a child 'leads the way' has seen most scholars agree that the peace treaty between the empires would be sealed by a child being born from the imperial union.

Cultural Reception

The vision caused great divisions among listeners on either sides of the Dragon Range. Certain parties were quite happy with the status quo while others would welcome peace and the opportunity to put away their weapons for at least a short while.
