Merchant Lord Fimir Nahafkha
Merchant Lord Fimir Sharaf Nahafkha
History
Early Life
Fimir had a modest beginning, working under his family's trade company out of Ushad since he was a young lad. As he grew older, his ambitions and taste for exotic pleasures would only grow exponentially. He would squander much of his family's money on luxuries, becoming quite infamously obese in the process.Ascension to power
After inheriting the company from his father, he began a cutthroat and ruthless campaign in a series of power grabs from rival merchants. He was so brazen as to have assassins sent after competitors in broad daylight. He bought, cheated, and stole his way to the top, assimilating the other trade companies in the process. The key to his success was the backing of foreign states, to whom he would promise record-low fees for using the trade routes.Rule
After a decade since inheriting his family's company, he became the one and only ruler of Ushad. Under his rule, he would usher in an era of prosperity that would last throughout his entire reign, built upon a lake of spilt blood.Innovations
In order to better secure the trade routes in and out of the desert, Fimir had a zero-tolerance policy when it came to the natives of the Glass Desert. Those who refused to bend the knee would be wiped out, thanks to his personal elite taskforce comprised of the warforged, a low maintenance, purchased personal army that could survive the sandstorms of the desert.Death
After half a century of rule, Fimir's decadent lifestyle would finally catch up to him, as he perished on the toilet after endlessly engorging on fruit.Post-rule
his death resulted in a violent and bloody power vacuum that hampered operations for almost a year. Former underlings scrambled for the pieces, and Ushad would return to a lack of centralized leadership. In the process, nearly all of Fimir's next of kin would be kidnapped, assassinated, or otherwise disappear.
